The telco, which has recently finished up a ₹18,000 crore follow-on public offer (FPO), will use almost ₹13,000 crore for capex, a portion of which will be for 4G development. "The talks have gained pace lately as funding has been ensured. It is expected that the purchase order will be issued after the spectrum auction and elections conclude in June," an executive with one of the vendors told sources.
An Ericsson spokesperson said, "We are engaged with all customers in India but do not comment on our business discussions." Vodafone Idea and Nokia didn't respond to queries.
Authorities said Vodafone Thought is seeking reports on innovation progressions to send the most recent equipment. Sellers will be mindful and hope to incorporate security statements into contracts. Last year, sellers waited to give gear on credit to Vodafone Thought, which was battling to pay for provisions given under past agreements.
The telco focuses on extending its 4G network, which is urgent to stem supporter misfortunes and go up against Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. According to analysts, it has lost 19% of the overall industry since the 2018 consolidation that made it because of deficient network spending.
