Reliance, owned by Mukesh Ambani, and Nvidia, a top US company in AI computing, have revealed a collaborative effort to construct AI infrastructure in India. CEO Jensen Huang made the announcement during a conversation with Mukesh Ambani at the Nvidia AI Summit 2024. Nvidia, one of the top global tech companies, was hosting the summit in India for the first time.
"It makes complete sense that India should manufacture its own AI. You should not export data to import intelligence. India should not export flour to import bread," said Jensen Huang while in conversation with the Reliance Chairperson.
"We can use intelligence to actually bring prosperity to all the people and bring equality to the world...Apart from the US and China, India has the best digital connectivity infrastructure," Ambani said while speaking on the large intelligence capacity of the Indian market.
Nvidia Corp.'s CEO also revealed on Thursday that the company is forming collaborations with prominent Indian companies like Infosys, further emphasizing India's importance to the AI pioneer's future, as per Bloomberg. Nvidia intends to help Tech Mahindra in creating a Hindi large language model and work together with Flipkart on conversational customer service. It will also collaborate with healthcare organizations to enhance patient care and research efficiency.
In addition, the biggest AI computing company in the world has recently made deals with local conglomerates such as Reliance and Tata Group to construct AI data centers. Reliance is developing AI applications as part of the JioBrain project, which has been extensively talked about by Ambani.
