"We look forward to working more with the UAE, especially since there are many sectors in which it has achieved great achievements," he said, stressing that the UAE has adopted a leading digital government strategy that many Indian cities look up to.
These cities are attempting to emulate some of the UAE's methods in this area and are also engaging with the UAE on information exchange, Singh noted, saying that India's technology sector accounts for approximately 10% of the country's GDP due to its size.
India intends to create a $1 trillion digital economy by 2026, and its internet services are already worth $300 billion, according to Singh, who also stated that India is spending substantially in the electronics industry to become the world's second-largest maker of mobile phones.
Using technology to improve the quality of life of its citizens has been a priority for India over the last decade, and it has created Aadhaar, the world's largest platform for identity verification, as well as a digital payment system that handles more digital transactions than any other country, he emphasized.
According to Singh, the recent G20 summit explored numerous technical solutions and projects that are based on open standards and can be customized and implemented by any country to conform with their own laws and regulations, allowing them to be used for local requirements and objectives.
