The recently signed JDA frames the joint effort between Advent and Siemens Energy, consolidating Advent's HT-PEM power device 50kW modules using its imaginative Ion-Pair™ membrane electrode assembly (MEA) innovation with Siemens Energy's electrification and automation solutions for hybrid and electric vessels.
The objective is to foster an incorporated 500kW High-Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell solution for oceanic applications and then assess downsizing/upgrading the framework to fit market necessities from motor and Giga Yachts to ferries and compartment/business ships. The imaginative clean energy arrangement coming about because of this long-term cooperation is supposed to first address the power needs of enormous yachts. Hence, plans are in progress to widen its application to incorporate ferries and business/container vessels.
The underlying model testing for the HT-PEM fuel cell module is supposed to occur at Siemens Energy's testing facility in Erlangen, Germany, in 2025, with the testing of the primary fuel cell module planned for 2026. Advent is currently captivating with world-driving customers in the sea business and expects to sign business term sheets in the near term to seek after impending Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
